Inoue Genzaburo Museum
Born in 1829 at Hino-shuku Kitahara, Inoue Gensaburo, captain of the sixth unit of the Shinsengumi, had been receiving training of the Tennen Rishin-ryū under the guidance of Kondō Shusuke since 1847 and achieved recognition of Menkyo Kaiden in 1860, meaning that he had mastered all the skills that the ryūha could offer.

Yagi Tamesaburo described Inoue Gensaburo as mature and quiet, and his sincerity and honesty were definitely an important factor for appointment of diplomatic duty by Kondō Isami.

Inoue Genzaburo Museum is currently operated by Inoue Masao, the descendant of fifth generation of his family. The current site is exactly where Inoue Genzaburo was born. After reconstruction, it serves as a museum featuring an array of memorabilia of historical value, including his certificate of Menkyo Kaiden, the plaque of Tennen Rishin-ryū, family letters and the Shinsengumi-related materials.
